I am inspired by the need for kindness. I want to be kind each and every day and I want others to be inspired to be kind,too.

Found it in my drawer!

I have learned that kindness, even when it`s delayed, can still be good. Sometimes the road we are on makes a turn that we didn`t expect. Often, if we take a deep breath and look around, there are wonderful and kind people there whom we wouldn`t have met if we hadn`t taken the unexpected turn.

My husband found this in our car when he removed the dashboard to replace the heater core. I work in a cancer center and see acts of supreme kindness on a daily basis. I`m sure that I will be passing it on quickly to someone special. Tawny

January is a time for renewal. I want to pass along the kindness that I have received. When we connect in community, the world is a better place.

My name is Jan and I passed along my token on December 19, 2011 to Amado (spelling). It was a rainy day and the mall was hectic with all of the last minute shoppers. Outside you had to drive round and round in hopes of snagging a parking spot. I ran my quick errand to exchange a pair of pajama bottoms for my daughter that I had purchased at Victoria`s Secret. The clerk had asked for my drivers license and in all of the commotion she forgot to give it back to me. I drove part way home and realized that she didn`t give it back. I pulled the receipt out of the bag and called the store immediately. Amado answered the phone in a very cheerful way and after me explaining my story he stated that they did indeed have it. I said it would take me a while to get back to the store because of all the traffic plus with the rain and trying to find a parking spot I knew that I would be delayed even more. He said he would be happy to wait outside for me so I didn`t have to try and park and get wet all over again. It was the kindness in his voice and his excellent customer service that warmed my heart and I knew in an instant that the token now belonged to him. Blessings, Amado! Jan

someone gave this to me, i thought it was a nice guesture.. i have carried around with me to remind me that some people really do recognize when you do nice things or are kind to them. it`s the ones that are impossible that we must be kind to.. i am going to pass this on to someone that really deserves it who i have witness giving with the kindness of her heart and not ever looking back for anything in return!

With age sometimes comes memory loss. I forgot one of the class purposes, to learn about the region. In South Louisiana farmers grow sugar cane, rice, and soybeans. We are known for our rich, spicy foods. Smoked sausage, and boudin (a spicy rice and pork dressing in a sausage casing) are favorites in this area. There are many local markets specializing in these products each with a slightly different taste. Gumbo, made with chicken and sausage or seafood, are often our meal. Gumbo is served over rice and is a soup-like consistency. My granddaughter in New Orleans says gumbo is not gumbo without Rabideaux sausage. This sausage is made about three miles South of my home on U.S. Highway 165. I will have some tonight as part of my supper.

This is a superb idea. My niece in Northern California sent a request because her grandson`s second grade teacher involved their class in the kindness project. Her purpose was to help the class understand geographical America. I will now at 83 years of age learn more fully about the project which has many possibilities. As a Christian I have always considered it a privilege to do random acts of kindness in Jesus` name. `Be ye kind. . . `,was one of the Scriptures I learned at age four or five. May your program continue among all people!

I met Frankie Freese, the grandmother of one of the class participants during an interview I had with her. She sent me this token. We were doing a video on the wind mills that are on her farm. The video is now on YouTube, and the Freeses` were wonderful. They spent a lot of time with us, and I wanted to return the favor in helping out with this class project. Hi Kids, my husband and I live in southern California. We just got back from a driving trip to Utah, specifically Zion and Bryce Canyons. Oh Lordy, is that some beautiful country with beautiful rock formations. October is such a great time to travel. The aspen trees had turned their fall colors and were beautiful. You kids study hard, have fun and be good.

The weather is nice and warm for most of the winter down here in Florida.

My husband and I traveled to the Gulf of Mexico coast in Texas this past spring for a beach clean-up. The group was from all over the state and collectively picked up 7 tons of trash. We found toys, coconuts, old carpet, propane tanks, driftwood, lots of plastic bottles and bottle caps, even a toilet! We all felt like we had done a great service for Mother Nature and the beautiful Gulf. We hope to take our grandchildren with us next year for the beach clean-up.

WE WERE HIKING AND CAME ACROSS A LOST DOG. SO WE LOOKED TO SEE IF SHE HAD A NAME TAG ON AND SHE DID. WE READ HER NAME BUT SHE GOT AWAY FROM US SO WE DIDN`T GET HER PHONE NUMBER. WE CALLED THE POLICE AND THE DOG SHELTER TO TELL THEM WHAT TRAIL SHE WAS ON. HOPEFULLY HER MASTER FOUND HER. ALWAYS BE KIND TO ANIMALS.

I taught 2nd grade for 32 years. I learned it is important to be as kind to others as you want others to be to you. Giving kindness is a gift to yourself.

My husband and I belong to a dance club and some of the members are quite old. One night as we were entering the lobby where the dance was to take place, there was a very old man down on his knees trying to buckle his wife`s shoes and neither one of them could do it. My husband got down on his knees and fixed the ladies ankle strap on her shoe. I was so proud of him that he was so caring and saw what needed to be done.

I think I received this token because I recently became a grand-parent. It really changes your whole life in a good way. I was inspired to pass this along to help out a friend`s grandchildren.

The token came from a friend in California. We are having a wonderful fall with the weather gradually getting colder. What a great project to trace where the token has been. Being kind to others is all important.

This token has found its way to rural California. I live with my husband in Birds Landing, CA where my husband`s relatives homesteaded the property in the late 1800`s. My twin boy grandchildren have a wonderful 2nd grade teacher in Sacramento who is inspiring. She wants them to appreciate this great country of ours by watching the travel of this token. My daughter received this token as part of the community outreach program at Boston University. She worked on the hunger project, and it was so meaningful to her, she went back as a counselor this year! I found this token in her room when she returned to college, and thought it was time to Pass It On and spread thanks for kindness. I am giving it to a co-worker.

I got this from my friend Jessica who gave it to me because she said I did a lot to help her, but really, it was she who helped me by brightening my days with her laughter and honesty.

September 16, 2011 My name is Jan and I received this token from Molly. I am so honored to have received it and absolutely love it! I would like to keep it forever but know that the flow of kindness would abruptly come to a stop. I will treasure the memory behind it. Molly gave this to me because I invited her into my home, so she could rest her weary head while she was transitioning from one mission location to the next. Molly fulfilled a prayer of mine. I have a great love for the homeless and have always wanted to bring one home. I of course have been warned that it would be too dangerous. While Molly was staying with me I realized that God answered my prayer. I had a homeless person staying at my home! Molly sold off all her personal belongings to follow the Lord and she is essentially homeless. She will always be in a transition mode and going to wherever she is needed. God blessed me through me blessing her. God is AWESOME! I am eager to pass it along.

I work for Strong Missions, a ministry that hosts short-term volunteer service groups here in Costa Rica. Laura, an adult leader of one of these groups, presented me this token in thanks for helping her group throughout the week. I`m not sure yet who I will pass it along to, but I am fortunate to meet many kind people in my line of work so I`m sure I`ll find someone.

I received this token when I was leaving a grocery store. There was an older gentleman who was trying to get some bags out of a shopping cart he was using. I was driving by and saw him struggling with the bags. I stopped and helped him put the bags into his car. He said thank you and said for me to hold on. He reached into his car and brought out the token. He briefly explained and said that was very nice and deserving of something more than just a thank you.

5/18/11 Im giving this coin to My amazing girlfriend Deniz whom I love more than I ever knew I could love. We found it when cleaning my office in a beautiful gift of `giving` package that my dear friend Sally gave me 6 yrs ago. I know That Deniz won`t have any problem finding someone to give this coin to - for she is the kindest person I know - always going out of her way to help others.

This token was given to me by my former hall director of three years at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. This woman taught me more about life and caring for others than I can fathom. The effort she puts into the relationships and work she does is immeasurable, and those around her truly benefit from knowing her. The love she shares for others is genuine, which allows her to get to know those around her at a depth that cannot be measured. Those she has worked with treat her with a level of respect and admiration that is tantamount to only the most important people in our lives. She will always be someone I can count on and turn to in moments of joy and moments of great sorrow. The person I am passing this token onto is a current staff member in my residence hall at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Though I have only worked with (and truly known) this person for one year, I have learned a lot from them about what it means to be kind and supportive, and she inspires me to be the very best person I can be. She gives more to others than she takes for herself. She treats all people with respect and cares immensely about those around her. She has this way of making each person feel like they are deserving of love and respect, as if they are special exactly how they are. Regardless of the day she is having, she is the most chipper and upbeat person I know, which, considering some of the things she’s had to put up with (me namely), is saying a lot. I thank her for all that she does but know that I could never thank her enough. She helps remind me that kindness and compassion are something given without prejudice. Thank you.

Knowing she would still be therer, I ran back to my house for my son`s old one. When I gave it to her she was so suprised and thankful. Today is valentine`s day and whereas i have outgrown the little valentine`s day cards, i have not outgrown wanting to let people know they are appreciated. Random acts of Kindness, is what i do! I get great delight in making others happy! So there is this book `ONE How many people does it take to make a differance` a totally awesome book, and one of my pt`s gf`s was reading it, i saw that she really liked it, but was leaving the office. Little did she know that I almost a year ago, bought SEVERAL of these books from Startbucks, in the thought to be a part of my random acts of kindness and to give as a gift to people i care about. So I gave the book to her bf to give to her. He told me that her face just lit up when he handed it to her. That alone made the gift all worth while, but when i saw her again she had this token for me in her appriciation for my thoughtfullness! You never know when your random act of kindess is really going to touch anothers heart! It`s such an awesome gift of life to make another happy! I`m the first story for this token, and i hope that it goes far, and touches many lives! Who knows maybe one day i`ll even get it back!
